Alicante Airport Bars, Cafes & Restaurants

There is a pretty good choice of places to get something to eat and drink at Alicante Airport. Bars and cafeterias range from the Carling Pub to Starbucks and a Farggi ice cream parlour.

But check the prices as Spanish (and airports in general) food and drink prices are notoriously high, partly due to the fact that their opening hours are long with staff working anti-social hours.

Also most of the airlines offer snacks on the plane, but again these tend to be rather limited with often low stocks which are expensive. Gone are the days when short haul flights serve up a plastic tray full of pretty inedible (but free) food.

I know a lot of people who take their own sandwiches to the airport to eat on board the plane, or alternatively buy something at the self service Air Food Court (which had a wide selection of sandwiches and snacks) for the flight. This is a chain which has restaurants at a number of airports so I use them a lot and the food is freshly prepared and a lot cheaper than some of the sit down table service places.

Favourite Places

If you are travelling with a family and in a hurry, then Burger King or Subway are good options. Places for a good cup of coffee and cake are Caffriccio or Starbucks. And my two favourite places are Farggi for its fabulous ice creams or Valor which is for real chocoholics with its hot chocolate and churros (local speciality delicious strips of fried doughnut). Valor are a Spanish firm and you can purchase most of their products (including drinking chocolate powder) in most supermarkets as well as at the airport.

If you want to have a drink and say goodbye to someone before you leave, go to the far end of the departures hall where you will see a news stand, restaurant/tapas bar and Burger King.

Listed below are details of the bars and cafeterias, their opening hours and where you can find them.
